Buyer Walkthrough

Step 1 - Creating a Ticket

Navigate to the #》start-deal channel and select your desired cryptocurrency from the dropdown menu. This will create a new ticket, where the rest of the deal will take place.

Step 2 - Add the Other User

To copy someone’s User ID: Right-click their profile and click “Copy User ID” from the menu. (If you do not see "Copy User ID", enable Developer mode in Settings -> Advanced)

After your ticket is created, take a moment to read the opening disclaimer.

You’ll then be prompted to mention the other party, or provide their User ID.

Step 3 - Role Assignment

Once both parties are added to the ticket, each must select their role in the transaction: Sender or Receiver.

As the buyer, you must choose "Sender", since you’ll be the one sending payment to the escrow.

Step 4 - Entering Deal Amount

Next, you’ll be prompted to enter the deal amount in USD. Do not include symbols — just type the number (e.g., 100 for $100).

Both parties must then confirm the stated amount before continuing.

Step 5 - Selecting the Fee Payer

If the deal is greater than $10, both users must agree on who will cover the service fee. You’ll choose from one of the following options:

  • Sender (you) pays the fee

  • Receiver pays the fee

  • Split the fee between both parties

Once selected, you’ll be prompted to confirm the choice.

Step 6 - Payment Invoice

After all deal details are confirmed, a deal summary and payment invoice will be generated.

The invoice will include:

  • The escrow wallet address

  • The exact crypto amount to send (calculated at that moment)

Make sure to send the exact amount listed. Use the “Copy Details” button for easy copy-paste, or scan the QR code if you're using a mobile wallet.

Step 7 - Perform the Exchange

If the seller backs out or fails to deliver, you can click "Cancel Deal" to request a refund. Both parties must confirm the cancellation. Be sure to not click the "Release" button until you've received your goods.

Once your payment is received and confirmed by the escrow, both users will be notified to proceed.

Now’s the time to secure your goods from the seller.

Step 8 - Releasing Funds

If you'd like your name to appear publicly in the deal logs, use the /setprivacy command and set your privacy to public

Once the exchange is successfully completed and you’ve received what was agreed upon, you can release the funds by pressing the green “Release” button.

You’ll be asked to confirm the release — once confirmed, the escrow will send the payment to the seller.
