Unfortunately, scammers often target users in crypto communities. This page outlines common scams users may encounter when using Halal MM and how to avoid them.

Fake Servers

Scammers may create cloned Discord servers that look identical to the official Halal MM server — same branding, channels, and even bots.

How to avoid it: To ensure you're always in the official server, join our verified Telegram channel (linked at the top of the site) to access up-to-date invite links.


Fake Support Staff

This is the most common scam. A scammer creates an account that closely mimics a real support member’s name and profile picture. They may DM you during a deal, pretending to be staff, and try to convince you to release the funds early.

How to avoid it:

  • Halal MM support will never DM you directly.

  • All support takes place only through official tickets. If you’re unsure, open a ticket — do not trust unsolicited DMs.


Reverse Role Scam

The scammer convinces you to select the wrong role during the role assignment step (e.g., they get you to select "Receiver" when you’re actually the sender).

Why it’s dangerous: If you select the wrong role, you could unknowingly send funds without protection.

How to avoid it:


Token Logging / Account Theft

Scammers may trick you into giving up access to your account through a fake verification process, interaction with a malicious bot, or by convincing you to download suspicious software.

These methods are designed to steal your Discord token, which allows the scammer to take full control of your account — even without your password.

How to avoid it:

  • Never verify through unknown bots or unofficial servers

  • Never download software sent to you during a deal or support request

  • Regularly check Settings > Devices to ensure no unfamiliar devices are logged in


Lying About Payment Status

Targeting sellers, this scam involves the buyer pretending to have sent funds to the escrow when they haven’t — hoping you'll deliver goods early.

How to avoid it:

  • Only proceed once the bot announces that payment has been received.

  • Do not trust verbal confirmations or screenshots.

  • If in doubt, ask in the ticket or wait for staff to verify.
